Dear friends and partners,

We have successfully finished our Erasmus+ Sport project Green Sport!

With this project, we searched for best methods on how to become environmentally sustainable in our activities – how to reduce the negative impact of our daily operations, the impact of tournaments and events that we organize, and help preserve the environment for future generations.

We implemented educational activities for coaches and staff, educational workshops for our young athletes, and then together we each organized one event in a sustainable manner. We used methods of water conservation, separate waste collection, reducing the amount of waste, reducing the carbon footprint, and circular economy principles.

As a result, we now implement our activities in a more sustainable manner. We walk and cycle to practice, use carpooling and group transport for events, use refill bottles instead of single-use plastics, collect waste separately, and work with vendors that provide compostable packaging. Going green is easy! We will also continue the education of our young athletes on sustainability.

For you, we have compiled the best and most usable methods in an overview brochure, which you can use for an easy guide on how to become more environmentally sustainable within your own organizations. Simple solutions begin with one step, and lead to great results.

We invite you to visit the project website (here), and download and use the educational materials for education of your own coaches, staff, and young athletes, and share the materials and the brochure in your circles and organizations, so it can reach the widest audience.

Together, we can make sport a vehicle for positive change and a sustainable future, to preserve the environment for our future generations!
